We ran a Maths Challenge Day for Year 7s across Tameside in February 2015. It consisted of 5 sections all with a space theme

1) A task around loci and bearings

2) A space station code breaker

3) A murder mystery

4) Designing and flying paper aeroplanes

5) Building a 3D model of a space station using hexagons and pentagons

Schools sent two teams of four from their most able Year 7 students.

It was extremely successful and we had some great feedback from students and teachers alike.

I was responsible for creating the Code Breaker for the second section.
